Jack Riordan

Mr. Riordan is a member of the litigation team and has a varied practice representing the interest of insurance companies, their policyholders, independent business entities and individuals, either in civil or criminal litigation. With thousands of cases resolved and hundreds tried before a jury or argued before an appellate court, he has a wealth of front-line litigation experience throughout the respective Courts of the entire state.

Jack has been a member of Leatherwood Walker Todd & Mann, P.C. since 1999 and a partner since January 1, 2002. From 1992 to 1996, Jack served as an Assistant Solicitor for the Fifth Judicial Circuit in Columbia during the sole term of then Solicitor Dick Harpootlian and the initial term of present Solicitor Barney Giese. Mr. Riordan served as the youngest member of Giese’s original Violent Crime Task Force. From 1996-1999, Mr. Riordan served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Carolina under Attorney General Charles M. Condon. Mr. Riordan was active in numerous practice areas, including Capital Litigation, Prosecution, and the Statewide Grand Jury. Jack assisted in defeating the final appeal of serial killer Larry Gene Bell.  In addition to his continued practice in the Court of General Sessions, Mr. Riordan argued numerous times in the State Supreme Court and before the South Carolina Court of Appeals. He has extensive experience regarding misconduct in office matters which he applies to his §1983 claims.

Jack is married to the former Leora Caroline Patterson and they have three children. Any personal time Jack finds is usually devoted to playing basketball, spending time with this family (usually at swim related events) or attempting to control his yard.
